ABOUT ABOUT

In just over a year Coventry will be UK City of Culture 2021, a once in a lifetime opportunity to show what the city is about, raise our profile nationally and internationally and welcome a projected 2.5 million additional visitors.

Councillor Jim O’Boyle, Cabinet Member for Jobs and Regeneration will outline the work taking place to get the city ready which will provide a legacy for local people.  Martin Sutherland, Chief Executive of the City of Culture 2021 Trust, will offer an insight on how plans for 2021 are progressing and Ian Thomas, Associate Director of NGI Solutions will share the research that has taken place this year on plans to improve the accommodation offer in the city and a business tourism strategy to support the post 2021 legacy programme.

We are also delighted to be joined by  Timothy Jenkins, Policy and Public Affairs Manager at Visit Britain who will provide an overview of the Tourism Sector Deal.
